Figurative oil paintings series

The Weight of the Gaze: Private Spaces, Public Eyes

This series of five figurative oil paintings follows the same woman moving through her bedroom Space. Each moment feels paused, suspended in a quiet sense of time. Installed together, the works turn the gallery into a private space. The viewer enters as an outsider, becoming aware not only of her but of their own act of looking. Built through layered oil glazes, the paintings use warm tones to bring the figure forward and cooler tones to hold distance. She feels close, but never fully accessible. Ultimately, the work explores the tension between intimacy and exposure, and asks the viewers to consider their role in the act of looking. The moment is hers, but your presence changes it.
